This Week in JK

Nocturnal Animals Week (Self-proclaimed)

We are about to embark on our Nocturnal Day adventures!

Clipboards...check!  Flashlights...check!  Extra staff and our principal to lead groups in the dark...check!

We're going on a letter hunt!

So much fun had by all!

We even celebrated during library by making nocturnal animal masks. Thanks Mrs. Kjelden.

 Our favorite books this week...

Am I Nocturnal?
Students chose six animals to use for this project. They had to decide if each of the animals was nocturnal or not. They practiced writing "yes" and "no" under each picture. We also practiced proper gluing techniques. :)

Center Time
Students at the writing center are making nocturnal animals books and the sensory center features some kinetic sand.

These boys enjoyed the science center this week. Our science center does not feature a certain task. Rather, students explore and build from materials provided.

Legos and Lincoln logs continue to be a hit at the building center.

Recess
We have loved pretending to be animals at recess. However, this week we went back to the basics. Students wanted to play good old-fashioned games like four square, hop scotch, monkey bars and football.
