This Week in JK

100th Day of School
We had a day packed full of fun activities on our 100th day of school. JK students have been busy learning to count by tens to 100.  Knowing how to count by tens helps us figure out number patterns and actually makes it easier to count by ones to 100. Here, students are stamping 10 groups of 10 stamps to get to 100.

We each had the opportunity to share our 100 items from home. We saw 100 pieces of popcorn, 100 noodles, 100 pennies, 100 marbles, and even 100 lollipops.

All of us took a picture under our "100 Days Smarter" sign for our memory books.

Art
We have been busy in art class learning about different tools we can use to paint. We used paintbrushes, sponges, mesh, and even rope to paint the background to our Valentine's Day pictures.

Centers
Our building center features one of our favorites, the road building set. We have added some new items to the set including a car carrier and a few new vehicles.

Sensory Table
We have a corn dig in the sensory table. Kids check off a list of items once they find them in the corn. They must also find and match capital and lowercase letters.

We are gearing up for another author study. This week we will be reading stories by Robert Munsch.
